The artist/songwriter grew up surrounded by all things music. Mom led the church choir, Dad played with the Talking Heads and Joe Walsh of the Eagles. “My mom was always singing and my dad had his guitars, a couple Les Pauls, hanging up on the wall, and I wanted to be like them” Scott says. “I remember first digging the non-musical concepts of short stories and screen writing and how structured but still creative it was” he describes how he started writing songs. “It really wasn’t untill I saw how difficult and demanding it is to write that I knew my heart was in country music,” the Knoxville, Tennessee native says. “The melodies are addictive. The lyrics have to be a perfect blend of simplicity and complexity. No other genre demands that; I like that challenge.” he says.​

Perfoming the music he writes was essentially a by-product of his personality. “Really, I started performing music before I should have” he laughs. “I had no idea what I was doing starting out – no one does – but I gave zero f*cks about that.” See a show now, and it’s obvious that Scott learned what he was doing somewhere along the way. And learned well. His show is part ‘holy sh*t, that was great’ and part ‘I might be hungover tomorrow.’ He’s an FGL party with a shot of Keith Urban. “Sure there’s definitely some Keith in there somewhere” says Scott acknowledging the comparison, but adds “if Keith Urban listened to way too much Sugar Ray and Red Hot Chili Peppers growing up.”​

After finding his sound over the past couple years, Scott is gearing up to release the music fans have been eager to hear. “I waited until everything was right. The team, the songs, the creative liberty, the producers, the vibe, everything.” Scott worked with Producer Aaron Eshuis (Ryan Hurd) to create his upcoming releases – leadoff by a single called ‘Sounds Like Us’. “Ironically, it’s some of the first music that I’ve made that .. sounds like me.”

The artist is unapollegetically confident in what he sounds like. And it sounds like fans are loving it.
