Beau Hodges Band
Red dirt Rock. That’s what we are calling it. Part country, part rock, part blues, part heavy- all honest.
Beau Hodges, an Oklahoma born singer/songwriter “has a voice and stage presence that are a powerful shot to the soul, His dynamic, versatile voice is matched only by the honesty and presence in which the songs are delivered.” (Dylan Keefe- Marcy Playground)
Beau Hodges began releasing his solo tunes in August of 2011. This project was birthed in the minds of Tyler Williams (Drummer, Background vox) and Beau Hodges (Singer, Songwriter) while the two were touring with another successful project they were involved in called Theory of flight. Theory of Flight released a full length record called “Within Reach” in August 2009 under Blue Beet Records. They toured and played nationwide with a lot of great bands including Everclear, Train and Marcy Playground.
Beau just completed a five song Ep recorded in Nashville Tn, and at Sweet Water Studios in FT Wayne Indiana. The music from the latest Ep entitled “The Outfit” will available very soon. Produced and engineered by Mark Hornsby Director of Music Production and Artist Relations at Sweet water Productions. Mark a veteran producer/engineer out of Nashville and has worked with the likes of (New Found Glory, Foreigner, Ricky Martin, Joey Kramer, Steve Winwood, Johnny Depp and Travis Tritt ). We also had the opportunity to work with Don Carr lead guitar player for the Oak Ridge Boys and Chris Scruggs grammy award winning Peddle Steele player on this five song EP! This extended play entitled“THE OUTFIT” is slated for release in early 2013
Beau was born in a little town called Comanche, Oklahoma which explains his bent toward outlaw country and southern rock. We began to talk about releasing some music that was a little more true to our roots. So the writing process began. The music that has come out of these writing sessions has a vibe and feel reminiscent to everything from the Allman Brothers to the Eagles with a bit more twang. We love big guitars and lots of Harmonies. In the latter part of 2012 Beau and and the boys had a chance to open for some great bands including ZZ Top, Gary Allen, Matchbox 20, Counting Crows, Ed Sheeran, Phillip Phillips and the Moonshine Bandits.
One of the highlights of last year was a performance for the 2nd battalion 4th Marine Division on April 19th at Mandalay Bay Events center. Beau wrote a song entitled “SEMPER FI for a special friend of his who is a United States Marine. We were asked to perform the song “SEMPER FI” for “The Magnificent Bastards” at there home coming Gala, obviously any opportunity to play for our nation’s finest is very special but this one was a big one and it was good to have the boys in Vegas. We had the pleasure in September of winning a huge battle in Las Vegas called “the battle for the Bite of Las Vegas” a Cbs Radio event with the opportunity to open for Matchbox 20 and Counting Crows. Just Recently On Dec 5th and 7th, Beau and the boys had the opportunity to provide direct support for rock and roll Icons (ZZ TOP) at two sold out House of Blues Shows.
The most exciting part of this project is seeing the way the fans connect with the music. We look forward to a long life of playing these tunes for as many will sing along.
