ACM After Party For A Cause: Stoney’s Rockin’ Country with Michael Ray

Alyssa Micaela

With a talent as big as Texas and personality to light up the whole U.S.A., singer-songwriter Alyssa Micaela is ready to take on the world. Her debut single, “Getaway Car,” generated more than 3 million streams during its first few weeks of release. A feisty toe-tapper that celebrates female independence, its no surprise which artists this newcomer relates to. “I gravitate toward the strong females. Growing up, I always sang songs by Loretta Lynn, Selena, Patsy Cline, the Dixie Chicks, Shania and Miranda Lambert,” the talented 24-year-old says. “I’m a big fan of Martina McBride, Linda Ronstadt, and Reba. I’d love to meet Dolly.”

Midland

Originally formed in Dripping Springs, Texas, Lead vocalist Mark Wystrach fronts Midland’s rich sound, rounded out by lead guitarist Jess Carson and bass player Cameron Duddy. Rooted in tradition both in sound and style, the band initially garnered attention playing clubs in the Texas region. Their self-titled debut EP features five tracks, boasting songwriting credits from each member. Midland intentionally nods to the wild west with Country music that is reminiscent of the 1970s and 80s with a modern day twist. They’ve opened for idols Dwight Yoakam and Willie Nelson and are currently in the studio with Shane McAnally (Sam Hunt, Reba McEntire, Kacey Musgraves) working on their full length release for Big Machine Records.

Michael Ray

Michael Ray Roach (born April 29, 1988), best known as Michael Ray, is an American country music singer and songwriter. He is signed to Warner Music Nashville, for which he has released his debut single, “Kiss You in the Morning”. The song has reached No. 1 on Country Airplay. Before this single’s release, Ray was mentored by John Rich of Big & Rich on the singing competition The Next: Fame Is at Your Doorstep, which he won. He and Rich co-wrote Big & Rich’s 2015 single, “Run Away with You”.
